S/F — FAQ

Compression, briefly answered.

What's the purpose of compressing an image?
To reduce its file size for faster loading, less storage use, and easier sharing — without visible quality loss.
Which image formats can I compress?
JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, HEIC and GIF. Each format gets a tailored compression strategy.
Will compression affect quality?
Our default preset balances size and quality so the compressed image looks identical to the original. You can also adjust the level if you need extreme compression.
What's the difference between compressing and resizing?
Resizing changes the pixel dimensions (e.g. 4000×3000 → 1920×1440). Compressing reduces the file size while keeping the same dimensions.
